Billing
Ocean State Lawn Sprinkler does not bill on any type of service (I.e. installation, service call, winterize, and/or start up), unless preauthorized before service is rendered. Payment is expected upon completion of work at time of service.. Work may not be performed if customer expresses payment cannot be made. A new appointment will be scheduled for the customer at the earliest convince. Commercial accounts are given 30 days from time of work to pay bill complete bill.
Terms of Payment: C.O.D. All accounts payable on completion of installation, repair, start-up and/or winterization. There is no billing on any residential account. Late accounts subject to interest at 1.5% per month. Should collection proceedings be necessary, customer agrees to pay Ocean State Lawn Sprinkler Inc. all costs of collection, including reasonable attorney's fees.
Return Visits After Start Up
During our start-up season, we do everything possible to make sure your system is operating at peak performance. If a customer is concerned about specific sprinkler head adjustments, the customer is responsible for physically showing specific problem areas and staying with the service technician to make sure the sprinkler head is performing to their satisfaction. A customer will have a 3 day period to review sprinkler adjustments. After the third day, normal service fee's will be applied to any return visit.
Controller Resets
A customer with specific controller requests MUST inform our technicians upon arrival. Our technicians set controllers based upon water volume output per zone, seasonal weather conditions, ground/coverage conditions, and number of zones. Controller resets are not covered in a grace period and a $30.00 fee will apply for any service call for controller resets.
Not Home Return Visit
If a customer has a scheduled appointment and is not home at the time of our expected arrival, an additional $25.00 return visit fee may be applied to the next bill. All appointments must be canceled through the office or officially established that a customer need not be home for the service. This fee applies to all seasonal services (regardless of grace periods), service calls, and/or installations.
Deposit Refunds
If you have given us a deposit for an installation or service and would like to cancel before the work has been preformed, we will return 100% of your deposit.
Town/City Permits
Some towns and cities require permits for both the exterior lawn irrigation installation and interior plumbing. The costs of these permits may not be reflected in the "total amount" of the installation quote. Customers will be responsible for paying for any necessary work permits obtained on the day of the installation.
Digsafe policy
It is Rhode Island state law for us to contact Digsafe before clearance to dig on anyone's property within 100 feet of underground utilities. All start-up appointments, installations, and service calls that may require digging will need a Digsafe number. Digsafe is a free service that requires 48 hours notice prior to our arrival. Ocean State Lawn Sprinkler, Inc will contact Digsafe for the customer. Each underground service company (Gas, Electric, Telephone, and Public Water Companies )will be on the property to mark any underground utilities with either ground paint, or flagging. Please do not remove any markings until after your appointment. A customer does not need to be home for Digsafe to mark the property.
Even at low depth levels, sprinkler system work is not exempt from Digsafe. Ocean State Lawn Sprinkler, Inc will not proceed to dig on any property that does not have a digsafe number.
